On November 8, 2024, at the MO Museum in Vilnius, we held the highly anticipated premiere of the documentary film Ukraine: A Glimpse of Reality II. The event was dedicated to raising awareness of the ongoing war in Ukraine through deeply personal stories, raw firsthand footage, and powerful testimonies from those living through the war. The film captures the resilience of civilians and volunteers who continue to fight not only for their country but for their very survival.

This premiere was more than just a film screening—it was an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, reflect on the impact of the war, and reinforce the importance of continued support for Ukraine. The event brought together a diverse audience, including activists, journalists, international guests, and members of the public, all united by a shared commitment to keeping Ukraine’s reality in focus.

A photo exhibition was there at the same time, showcasing images that tell the human stories behind the war.

Before the film screening, we hosted a discussion with an active Lithuanian volunteer who has been delivering aid to Ukraine since day one, along with a member of the Lithuanian Parliament. The discussion focused on Lithuania’s support for Ukraine—what has been done, what still needs to be done, and the broader political context of the war.

Following this, we presented the documentary “Ukraine: A Glimpse of Reality II”, filmed in May 2024 during our trip to Odesa and Mykolaiv. The film provides an unfiltered look at the reality of war and features personal stories of people who have refused to give up despite constant danger.

of reality 2

The second part of the documentary delves into the lives of four women, sharing their stories of survival under occupation in Mariupol and Mykolaiv. Through their voices, the film captures the profound challenges they faced and their unyielding resilience in the face of war.

The evening concluded with a musical performance by Daria Repalo and her group – Adaria. Daria is a professional singer who creates original music and performs traditional Ukrainian folk songs.

The event brought together activists, journalists, international guests, and people from diverse backgrounds who stand in solidarity with Ukraine. It served as a reminder that the war is not just a distant conflict but a harsh reality that continues to affect millions of lives. Through storytelling, discussion, and shared reflection, the premiere reinforced the urgent need for continued support and awareness. The presence of such a committed audience highlighted the importance of standing together in the face of injustice and ensuring that Ukraine’s struggle for freedom and sovereignty remains at the forefront of global attention.
